hi everyone,

i got some good news in my email this weekend, my pic from game seven of the yankees-red sox alcs last october, has been chosen as picture of the day, by kodak. it will be run on the times square jumbotron on opening day this year, when the yankees play boston on april 3rd.

short of suiting up in pinstripes and batting cleanup, this is about all i can do to start the yankees off right this year, the first year after...

enjoy (#10....) photography,

Andy, Is this a photoshop creation? Just wondering because noone in the stands seems to be paying the sign any attention. Now if I were in the stands and the guy in front of me had a 5' poster in the air in my way, I would not have the same expression as this crowd.

Just wondering, Sorry if it is not. was just wondering......

nope. game 7, yankees, redsox last october. in fact, there's zero photoshop here except for raw conversion.

Another congrats for yet one more KPOTD for your long resume.

Now.... I ask you, where in the world could one take a picture of a crowd that large in 2004 or later, and get only one person holding a cell phone to their head? headscratch.gif

Congrats Andy, on yet another KPOTD clap.gifclap.gifclap.gif

It's a super shot and since the "Big Board" is in NYC, I'm sure that capturing it at Yankee Stadium didn't hurt your chances either rolleyes1.gif

I remember when I first saw this shot last October. I always thought it had "KOPTD" qualities. Glad you submitted it. BTW, since you win so often, do you even have to submit anymore? Or, do they just stop by your site and pick from there? :lol

J/K buddy mwink.gif I'll be looking for the Times Square version.

    Congrats again,

I can't believe that is a no photoshop shot. It even has that classic old time feel to it. Kind of desaturated and somewhat soft focus except for the "
Babe". WOW! What are you paremeter settings?Teach us sir.

thanks, cg... yes, it's from the camera, no photoshop deal.gif. the poster was b&w. i focused on the poster, at f/4 (70-200 f/2.8 with 1.4xtc on board) so the people are oof for the most part.
