It's everyone's desire .. well that's what I think.
Is there a business for travel photography? I sure would like to get better at travel photography and make a decent living from it.
Or just keep at getting into grad school for psych and anthro programs...

Used to be mine.. till I stopped liking the travel so much. Trouble is, like you correctly assume, everyone and their granny would like to get their travel shots into a guide book or travel magazine. I believe their may be other ways of doing it, but imagining my photos in the Rough Guide was what I used to daydream about.
Sure someone's making a living out of it, but to get paid for travelling to take photos and getting paid for travel photos are different things (I know you didn't make the distinction between the two.. I am )
If you don't want to do it at this early stage, then no.. don't do it. Travel around a bit if you can and either get it out of your system or get some travelling time under your belt. But, I would have thought anthropology would have been an interesting subject to learn since you obviously yearn to travel and document it
