Great Smoky Mountains - Clingman's Dome Sunrise Photos 1

Taken Oct. 15, 2004 just before the sun came up over the mountains. Used +3 ND gratuated filter to bring down the sky and allow the mountain ridges to show.

    Great Smoky Mountains - Clingman's Dome Sunrise Photos 1
    The first Clingman's Dome Sunrise was the third in the sequence of the four that I am posting. Total time elapse from the first of the four until the last was 35 minutes. This shows the variety of colors that I saw from the first of the four until the last. I did change the angle as this photo was taken of an area just to the left of the first photo I posted. The photo below is the first of the four photo sequence.

    This photo was taken last and approximately 35 minutes after the first in this four photo sequence. This photo is basically the same as photo 2, but with a tighter zoom to just left of center of photo 2.

    Wow, those are really excellent! The colors are just breathtaking!!! I love your work Dixie. I find myself waiting for your next post. You make me want to get in the car and just drive and drive and drive. Can't wait for my Spring Break trip...hopefully I can get some good shots away from the beach!
