Final Approach for Landing

Hi,

I took these a while back and love the way the GBH sometimes glides in for a landing.
Every time I see them do this it reminds me of Star Trek and a Klingon Warship.
Got some good Bokeh in the last one.

Hope you like them.

    Awesome!!
    Hi Chris,

Your photos are absolutely wonderful! clap.gifclap.gif

After looking at these photos and others on your site, I would love to see the birds. It is awesome to see the clarity, action and color you are able to capture in your photography. You have a great gift for capturing the birds in their natural habitat. thumb.gif

    Keep shooting!

    Keep shooting! Maureen

Hi Maureen, Thanks you for your very nice compliments.. :D

I have been fortunate to find a couple good locations for my shoots and have also happened onto some pretty incredible situations to watch and photo. I'm glad I can present them to everyone through my photographs.

To be honest, I am in awe when viewing the beautiful photos that others posted on D-Grin. There are many many incredible photographers that post here and I enjoy viewing them all.

Hi Ann, Thank you for your comments. I've almost given up on the Arizona morning sun.. it is so harsh (like a torch). The afternoons are wonderful for light but now it is getting dark by about 5 pm (we don't change our clocks) so it is an early evening through the winter.

Hi Glenn, I'm trying. There has been a beautiful pair of Bald Eagles hanging around for about a week but they won't come close. Friday they sat up high on the boulders and didn't move for about 4 hours, just scoping everything out. I think it might be the breeding pair that comes every year.. they are very close to each other, never leaving each others side.

Today I watched these two guys fight all day long (one redtail and one harrier-I think). They attacked each other constantly but they were about 200+ yards away.. this is the best I could get.

Great pics Chris!clap.gif They come in to land quite differently from the herons in this area. These ones go upright before landing, but have their necks tucked back when doing that gliding thing.

Hi Mike. Thanks for your comments. Here they fly both ways. Sometimes tucked and sometimes laid flat out. Don't know why..headscratch.gif
