I was using the mozilla firefox, I couldn't played any video on smugmug with it (example: http://fourseasons.smugmug.com/gallery/169167/4/14970883 ) :huh .
It just showed a white box and a green "piece of puzzle" icon. It asked for an update from quicktime, I installed the update but it still didnt' fix the problem.
I have both windows media player and quick time player installed.
Actually....I have uninstalled the browser... but I may reinstal it if I find out what the problem be. :scratch
Anyways, the windows explorer plays the videos just fine.
Thank you, :1drink
PS: for firefox users, do you like it better than the windows explorer?

What you need to do is tell the Quicktime plug-in that you want to play MPEG1 videos with it. The way I did this (which is probably not the best way but I couldn't work out how to do it any other way) is to go to this page:
http://neuro.caltech.edu/~lshams/demo.html
Right-click on the Q and then choose "Plug-in settings".
Click "MIME Settings" and under MPEG, tick MPEG media and MPEG audio.
Restart and it should work!
[Edit: Actually, just go to the settings and it's in "file associations" although Firefox still seems to think there is a missing plug-in but it can't find it. PS Firefox is better than IE.]
