Whats black and blue and doesn't hurt

My Wife and I took a Hike up Placerita Canyon on Saturday morning, this Stellar jay quickly became my subject of the morning.
These birds are amazing, gorgeous color and tons of character, we spent three hours watching this guy :D

    All good Steve, but I like the pose, lighting, and composition of the first photo best!

    Thanks Glenn, I'm still struggling with my MK3 on exposure and focus, the shots without the fill flash look better colorwise as with image #1.

    Beautiful shots of one of my favorite birds. I wish they were more common around here. You did a great job of capturing his color and iridescence. Great work.

    I'm going up on Saturday, be preparred for a 2.5 mile hike up there, it's not bad though relatively flat except for two spots.
