Lone White Pelican

Hi Everyone,

This guy has been here all by itself for almost 2 weeks and I've captured these shots over that time.

The odd thing is we have two lakes here, this one is so low he can't even get his head under the water to feed. Most of the time (since he is so big) he can't paddle because the water is so low. The lake on the other side of the highway (about 1/2 mile away) is much deeper, just as big and in better shape.. but he never leaves this one. Can't figure it out..:dunno

Hi Stephen, Thanks for you comments. He definitely gave me a good profile as he passed by. I feel bad cause I know these guys usually travel in pairs or a group. Not sure why he is alone. There was a pair on the other lake last year but I haven't seen them this year. And last year they never left that lake or ventured over to this one. I can't figure it out.
