Price on Canon 5D

I've been wanting to buy the Canon 5D. Anyone else notice latley that the price is dropping on this camera? I've been monitoring it on Nextag. So why the price drop? Do you think a new version is on the way? Should I wait and see what happens?

I went to a store event today at Calumet SF, and the Canon rep there told me the 5D II is due out by the end of this month.

I noticed in one ad in a magazine that the 5D was going for $1900.
