I am a big admirer of automobile styling, especially high-performance sports cars and exotics. Here is a short photoessay on the vents, scoops, and slats found on some of these cars. Enjoy, and C&C is always welcome.

#1 Lamborghini Countach - NACA duct

201631427-L.jpg
#2 Classic Corvette - "shark gills" on a 1966 or 1967 model, I think.

#3 twin slats on a Ferrari SuperAmerica

201631621-L.jpg
#4 Qvale Mangusta - a fairly rare car

201631200-L.jpg
#5 Lamborghini Murcielago

#6 DeTomaso Mangusta

Very cool shots. I don't know much about cars that cost more than some people's homes, but they certainly are slick looking. #5 is my favorite.

    Cheers,

Nice essay shots. thumb.gif You got some very neat ones.

Stuck my camera out the car window the other day, at stop light ,to take a
quick picture of this blue Mac trucks front fender and lights. My visiting
relatives asked me why I bothered. I told em "CAUSE ITS COOL!!!" thats why.

Kdog, thanks and cool Dolphin avatar BTW.

I have a hard time getting a decent "whole car" shot at the auto shows. My challenges have been the background, which is usually very busy, and the large crowds at these events which rarely leave me a car "all to myself". Clearly, these limitations are a reflection of my limited skills!:D (I'm trying to improve.) Still, here's a shot Taken in Dallas about a month ago. I was trying to make the busy background a "feature". It's a long row of Lambo's parked side to side.

Cool stuff. My only suggestion is to invest in and learn to use a circurlar polarizer. Some of those reflections are distracting on otherwise lovely shots.

Thanks anwmn1, very cool shots indeed - love the Ford GT in the large arena.clap.gif I checked out your website and its chock full of excellent shots. Wow. Anyway, your first shot above sent me searching through my car pics trying to i.d. the scoop. I think I've found it; here's a very similar vent on a Porsche GT2. (That's my youngest son in the foreground, and yes he's in a tiny Ferrari costume - the Ferrari dealership guys always give us free reign to their cars when he shows up in this garb!)

Love the Ferrari outfit on your son. Too cute.

Dang- After seeing some car shots guess I'll be heading to a car show this weekend. Luckily for me The Good Guys Hot Rod Show is in town. mwink.gif
