My first attempt at macro with the EF 100mm f/2.8 lens and focus stacking.

It's hard to imagine that a tiny thing less than 1.5cm can make so much noise, which easily gave away its location. Looks like the marble floor with all the dust and carpet fibers can use some cleaning. Focus stacking was done with only 2 frames.

The followings are single images (no focus stacking). These guys quickly went into hiding after only a few shots and exposure to bright light from the flash.

Assume #1&2 are a type of cricket (interesting ovipositor).

Skippy, Brian, and Jim, thank you. Brian, your work is my inspiration to try macro. I just purchased the Kenko tube set. It'll be fun to try them out once I receive them.
