I have a stupid question.....and can't find the answer anywhere for it.

I purchased my new flash, but I don't know if I can leave the batteries in it when its not in use. Or do you take the batteries out when your done shooting ?

I had a Bower sfo35c flash which I left the batteries in it....and one of the batteries leeked. I would hate to have that happen to my new flash :(

Thanks for any light you can shed on this (excuse the pun).

It solely depends on how long you intend to leave the flash idle. if i was going to leave it longer than a month or 2 then yes...other wise no i wouldnt remove them myself.

I leave mine in all the time, but thats only because I use it very often. If I
was going to store it away in my photobox for a longer time I'd take them
out - not because the flash could be damaged, but because I dont want my
rechargeabel batteries to discharge to an extend that they cannot be reloaded
anymore. Until batteries start to dissassemble they really have to be
    old.

I've had batteries corrode in my equipment from leaving them in too long. I'd take em out if it wasn't going to be in use after a couple months.
