Image Linking / URL inconsistancy issues.

I do a fair amount of promotion for my sports photography by posting up samples in related forums. in doing so, I always create external image links using my custom url, www.tylerwinegarner.com. However, when I do a RightClick>Properties on an image, it always displays the XXXX.smugmug.com URL.

Ordinarily this wouldn't be too bad, were my site name tylerwinegarner.smugmug.com. But that's not what it is, its instead an old legacy name which is rather less preofessional in appearance. And if I change it now in my control panel, it will break all of the image links. And that's really bothersome.

Is there any way to make it so that my images (and their links back to my SmugMug site) will always resolve as my custom URL?

click "Share Photo" button
next page, click or be sure you are on "forums, blogs, etc"

then just copy the link you want by clicking the "copy" button.

Thanks for replying, but that's not the issue - that's what I already do. The problem is that I direct link the image using 'www.tylerwinegarner.com' but in the image properties, it gets changed to my old gallery url - 'exactingscience.smugmug.com' instead of www.tylerwinegarner.com.

For example - check the image properties from this post - I created all of these image links starting with http://www.tylerwinegarner.com, but now they've reverted to my old, non-custom url.

I don't know what happened in that post, but if I post a direct link to one of your images here:

http://www.tylerwinegarner.com/photos/179748944-M-2.jpg



it comes through in the posting only with your new custom URL on it just fine.

Its an inconsistant issue - sometimes it happens, abd sometimes it doesn't. And I don't know why.

Try flushing your cache, I guess.

It's quite consistently good for me...
