I had occasion to visit...

The 24,000 square foot mansion on 400+ acres of land in what is now Beverly Hills was built in 1927 for the Doheny family; wealthy oil barons of the west.

The now unoccupied site, a public park, is home to an annual design show in which professional designers remake rooms for a public display of
their talents and wares all in the name of ego, errr I mean - charity. :huh

I wasn't allowed to photograph inside the house but got a few decent shots of the surrounds, like this entry garden pavilion:

all among the grounds there were lots and LOTS of these:

which AMAZE me, considering it is November!!!

also quite a few of these were strewn about:

I caught just a few interesting architectural details:

as I wandered about the property, in areas I was probably not allowed to be, I came across an old pool long filled in and its adjacent abandoned pool house...

As I made my way back to the public parking area I happened upon these babies driven to the site by members of a classic car owners club...

The End!

:D

    These are beautiful Angelo.
The first shot of the steele gates looks kind of eerie,
reminds me of the gates to a Haunted House .

The gardens are just beautiful with the combinations in the stone work.

Looking up at those Chimney's how cool are those pattens,
each one is different, looks like money was not an issue with spending on the design and structure of this mansion.

The cars just finish it off don't they :D

I love the last shot Angelo.

Beautiful Post Angelo, how lucky were you to be able to be there. clap.gif
    Thanks for sharing thumb.gif .... Skippy :D
