This green lacewing was found freezing on the end of a dead leaf.

    Thanks Skippy. I decided to let him do the work. I focus just in front and let him walk into focus. Worked well in this instance, although I usually try to focus moving from far to near to get more of the DOF over the critter instead of in front of it.

    These pics are great....Love em both...I would love to see the outstretched wings on the first one...I am fascinated by wings and the details(maybe was a fairy in a former liferolleyes1.gif ) Your up close ladybird is brilliant...

    Thanks also. As you can see, I am still working on lighting too. These are just a tad blown out I think, but the focus is pretty good. Brian has written a ton af absolutely great stuff that you should read. I've re-read it a bunch of times already, as I am fairly new to this also. Practice is the best way to get better.
