While some of these have appeared previously, the ultra high ISO images I have not seen before.

    Good catch. thumb.gif

The ultra high iso images look really neat if you ask me.
It's not noise free but its not the kind of colorful noise that
    makes an image unusable.

Just for yucks, i went ahead and processed the image, like I would if it were one I had shot and needed.

A histogram showed, and confirmed, that the image was shot too dark (to the left), not what you want to do if you are pushing the ISO that far. Still I was able to use Levels to get the image within norm.

Then I ran Neat Image Pro against the image to help control color noise mostly. I ran a midtone sharpening action to get a little more "pop" in the image, and that increased the noise as well. I reran Neat Image against both color and luminance.

The results were not horrible and I think usable for newspaper and Internet applications and certainly a 4x6 print.

I don't think this was a very good sample to run against, so I'm pretty encouraged.

P.S. Again you can't compare this sample to other cameras because these are pre-production models.

The fact that you said usable and iso25600 with respect to the same image is wings.gif Can't wait to permanently bond an 85/1.4 to one...

Don't take my statements on this sample as too serious. There are still many unknowns about this camera and even more unknowns about the sample image. Wait for reviews based on production bodies.

I've seen plenty of samples along with some in person to feel comfortable that uso6400 is plenty usable and 12/25k should be workable. Interesting samples....
