Easily the most interesting is the cups. Odd that they're not in focus. Assuming that you would like them to be, try framing the shot so that they're in the middle and half push down on the trigger button. That forces the S50 to focus on whatever's in the center of the shot. Keep the button half down, then recompose until you're happy, then push the button all the way.

The black on white of the vinyl is cool, but the label's way too busy to be minimalist. Nice idea and placement of the record.

I reckon the dartboard has too much going on. Plus, a shot like that needs something extra. The composition's good, I reckon it's a lighting thing.

    Hi Charlie,
I agree with Sid. The records are kind of cool. But there seems to be too much there. How about a close up of the needle on the record?

The dart board is way too busy.

The plastic bowls are the closest to the mark. I'd make it sharper and bolder. How about a realy bright red object. Bowl, cup, whatever. Or even a bright blue or yellow. Get the background real clean. No specks. Photoshop is your friend.:D

    Hey cb,

I agree with the others. Cups are the way to go. Once you get the cups nice and sharp you're going to have something really really good.

Cups? It looks like a plastic easter egg to me...

but I agree, work on that. My one suggestion beyond what you've already heard is to use a sheet or a piece of paper as your background. Pin it up on that wall you're already using and let it hang down to cover your floor (or whatever that is) as well. This will eliminate that hard line where the corner is.

kinda like this: (done with a piece of paper taped to the wall, natural bend makes it seem like there is no corner at all)

The plastic egg is the best. Although I really do like the dartboard, it has too much going on for this challenge.

I think you could work with the records if you focused solely on the actual vinyl with some bordering white space to emphase the circular shape which would be further emphasized by the circular lines in the vinyl......do you have macro at all? try some lamps bounced off a white wall near the record so you won't get as many hotspots.
