Dominican Republic Family Fun

My husband was traveling to New Zealand for work (I couldn't get two weeks off of work :cry) so i tagged along with my Stepmother, Father, two brothers and a bunch of other families to an all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic. This was my first time to an all-inclusive and it does have its pros and cons! Usually when i travel i like to see a different place every day! We still had a blast....
We arrived a week after Tropical Storm Noel devastated the central part of the country. We were more in the southwestern portion, so the only damage we saw was this boat washed up on the resorts beach. It took them 4 days to destruct the boat by hand without any power tools :scratch.
This is what it looked like 4 days later (stayed the same for the rest of the week...)
We played a lot of beach volleyball...It was very hard to keep score because of the language barrier...French, English, Italian, Spanish...etc.
I like this one...
We took a boat out to an island to swim and play on a different beach...
This is how an Irish Man gets a tan.
We even saw some dolphins on the way.
On the boat they gave us this silly hats...Ryan is thinking of trying out for the Dominican Republic Swim Team.
While on one of the most beautiful beaches i have ever seen...
we went shelling and coconut picking
On the way home we even went Starfish hunting
We were fortunate enough to go on a bike tour of the near by town and visited a local school.
It was also my 26th birthday while we were there and my daddy took me parasailing...
and we got wet...
Later that night they had a festival on the beach as we watched the sun set.
ohh and by the way, i bought these cool sunglasses for the trip but my brother thought they looked better on him...

our company used to be based in DR ...but alas they shifted out before i joined them ...so could never go there....but your snaps make me want to go there...
lovely sunset snap....and also the series of those 3 snaps playing beach volleyball
regards
Nick
I wish we could have explored the island more, but going to the beach and relaxing was just as fun. Every night we watched a fantastic sunset from the infinity pool while drinking some fruity cocktail...at that moment life couldn't get much better. I would suggest that if you are thinking of traveling to the DR...GO!
