I recently purchased the domain name "chipphillipsphotography.com" and linked it to my power user account here. http://chipphillipsphotography.smugmug.com/
I would like to set it up so that typing in "www" is not necessary. When I went in to Joker to try and check on this it asked me for a code from the place I have it linked to. Could you please provide me with this? I am VERY new to all of this and need all the help I can get!
Thanks very much, Chip

You already have it set up so that typing "www" is not necessary. Go ahead and give it a try, http://chipphillipsphotography.com

That isn't working on my end....Also, other people on other forums are having trouble without the "www". Maybe some browsers correct for the lack of it...

Just to be clear, CNAME Aliases are how we support this officially at SmugMug - and that's a pro feature. If you forward your domain you might have risk of passwords and cart cookies not working properly....

You're right. I just did some real DNS lookups and see that your DNS provider is not providing an A record for the origin (your domain without www).

OKay back to this "code" they asked for. There is no code that SmugMug can give you. I'm guessing they are asking for an IP address... You just need to ask them to allow redirection of the domain without www, just as they are currently doing for "www".

And to followup on what Andy said, when just doing redirection, which is what you currently have set up (your domain just redirects web browsers to your smugmug.com name), you will not have any problems with SmugMug. Now if you really want to attach your domain to your SmugMug account, you will need to pony up more money for a pro account.

Thanks for the responses. I have a request in at Joker. I can't see forking out 100 more dollars for that. I don't need the other perks for the pro acct., I want to deal with print sales, ect. on my own for now. I'm not all that concerned what the top says at my site, as long as I can leave a simple link for people.
    Thanks, Chip
