Hello
I have been lurking on this forum for a while now and would just like to say how amazing the photography is on this forum, the quality is astonishing.
Brian, Thank you for some excellent tutorials your shots really are inspirational.
I have had a general interest in Photography for many years but it is only since discovering the world through a macro lens that i really would like to take it to another level.
I have a few shots I would love to share with you and any comments or criticism would be very welcome. the bees were shot on Dartmoor in the summer, the locust is frozen and the praying mantis is captive bred.

Hi there Eggbanjo, Welcome to the Dgrin Forum.
Nice to see you've de-lurked yourself and posted some images clap.gif

Your Mantis has very cool banded eyes, which I have not seen before eek7.gif
He looks a bit of a show off too as poses for you.

The Locust has also got cool bands on it's eyes.
I love the facial structure of these things, it's like they have a pair of false teeth slapped in the front.

The bee in flight about to enter the Bell shaped flower is a great shot!

Thanks for sharing, now don't go back to de-lurking, keep posting thumb.gif

    Thanks Skippy
The Mantis is a female Pseudempusa Pinnapavonis (Peacock mantis) and does seem to have quite a personality.
The flower is a foxglove common on Dartmor and bees are a Honey bee and a Early bumblebee

    Hi Dalantech.
The Bee in flight shot took the whole afternoon and around 500 shots, in the end i came away with about two usable pics. this one being the only in flight one.
