Ovation Network - photographers this week

The Ovation Network is having a series this week on photography, called Framed. Last night they had a fascinating series on Albert Maysles, Andrew Moore, Sylvia Plachy, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and Greg Crewsdon. It was followed by an hour of David Lachapelle, and then by an hour of Cindy Sherman. This was one of the best tv specials on photography that I've ever seen. Each of the episodes was really well done, I thought. I'm not a fan of Lachapelle, but the piece on him was informative and interesting.

My (photographer) sister told me about this. She gets that channel, I don't It was a good excuse to go hang out last night. Some interesting stuff.

I called the Ovation TV offices in Santa Monica and learned they are currently only available via Direct TV in southern California but are trying to get broader coverage on some of the cable carriers.

I sent an email to Time Warner requesting they consider carrying the station. If enough requests hit the offices of TW...
