Images don't appear in a search

I have keyworded my images, and they don't seem to be appearing in any searches....Do the keywords need to be showing in order for this to work?
I have them hidden, but they are there. Thanks, Chip

Thanks for the response Andy. The image that I tried it out on doesn't appear for some reason:

First keywords are "enchantments, alpine, lakes"
I am finding others in searches though...
