i would like some construtive c&C if possible.. these are our newest additions to the family. they do not have names yet but are sooo cool!! im so excited to have them to not only photograph but to watch as well. c&C would be wonderful these are the first ones i did of them. you cant touch them (oils, lotions, exc on people hands can kill them!) so i more or less nudged them out of their containers while i took photos

What a beautiful creature! I like #4 and the last one The lighting seems a little harsh on them, maybe you could adjust that a little, but nice shots.

I know lighting is horrible!! sadly they are only "awake" at night so im left with very little to work with... any suggestions for shooting at night?

are you using the in camera flash? If you can, try using bounce flash. OR crank up your iso setting to allow for shooting without flash. If you have room lights on then that might work.

yes, i was using in camera flash.. my iso was set to 400.. i will try to take a few at a higher iso, im just scared to loose alot of detail because of it. at least they arent wild, so they wont be going anywhere fast do keep in mind, im also shooting through glass im sure that has some ill affects too

yeah, it's a tough one to shoot, but you did pretty well anyway. The lighting is not really all that bad, just a bit harsh with a flash look to it. As you say, they aren't going anywhere, so try some different methods and see how you go. Do you have a table lamp or something that you could move nearby to light it up a bit without the flash? That could be another one to try. Let us know how you go. Post more pics

of course you could try a longer exposure and hope they don't move. Using a tripod.
