iMac 2.0 or 2.4 GHz?

I'm going to be purchasing the 20" iMac and using an existing monitor for photo editing. I will also be purchasing a (3rd party) 2GB stick for a total of 3GB RAM.

Question is, should I purchase the 2.0GHz or 2.4GHz? I've historically subscribed to the "buy as much computer as you can comfortably afford" mindset, but am wondering if the additional under the hood horsepower will make much difference?

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

First, bump the RAM to 4 GB. The new iMacs will use it, and RAM is cheap now. $120 for 4 GB at OWC.

Next see Mac Speed Zone for a comparison of iMac speeds in different tests.

Hope it helps you make a decision.
