Hi everyone. I have enjoyed lurking about and looking at everyone's beautiful photos. Here is my first attempt at de-lurking and offering some photos of some of the birds that have come to my feeders in the last while.

male downy woodpecker

roughed grouse (it was quite cloudy and hand held)

Okay, this is not from my yard, this is from a summer trip to Saskatoon.
The White Pelicans hang out by the weir, catching fish

Thanks for looking. Any comments would be much appreciated, Angela

yeah, sorry about the photos sizes. I wasn't exactly sure what I was doing, so I was flipping back and forth between the Skippy's excellent tutorial and the post. For next time, I will choose a big file size.

    Thanks for your comment, Angela

Welcome. I love the woodpeckers and the roughed grouse is a very photogenic bird, too bad there is some motion blur in the shot. Pellies are always good for a pic. They do not seem to mind the lens very much. :D

Thanks Ann, You're right I am very close, just west of Edmonton. You and the other dgrin crew passed by where I live on your way to Jasper.

I very much liked the posts from that trip too.

    Hi Grainbelt,
I loved Saskatoon. I hadn't been there since I was a kid. The Pelicans and the beautiful walkways in the river valley are incredible. Here are a couple more of the pelicans.
