I like Jack's Fries. The change in skin tones on his hand and her face is a little distracting, but overall I think the image works well with this type of post-processing.
On the last one of the series, I really like how the colors of the patrons attire matches the decor (even the bulletin board) of the shop. Plenty of great shapes and lines in the shot. Including the brief case, floor tiles, the base of the table, even the ceiling and walls. It looks like the gentleman in the green shirt in the middle of the shot is about to take offense to his photo being taken. Nice shot.
Put these into ACR (assuming you have CS3 and the latest version of ACR)....or Lightroom.

When i first saw processing like this a while back, i really liked it, but now, it's just doesn't do nothing for me. I ran across this site http://www.lucisart.com/ If anyone familiar with it, i would like to hear an opinion. The software is $169.00 i believe, and i don't know if effects can be produced just by using PS or LR. Anyway, i don't know if buying this will jastify money spent.
Your images looks great without processing, you're very talented and i don't think you need to process your images, well, for fun of it may be .
Good work!!

If I were you I wouldn't drop the cash on Lucisart. Use ACR or Lightroom instead.
I missed this thread the first time around, but caught it when I was reading the "at work" threads. I have CS3 and I've been playing with some random RAW files, but I'm not getting quite the same results. Any suggestions?

Play with the sliders once you perform the initial edit. Don't be afraid to change exposure and black and see what changes they make to the image.
Take a look at the Lightroom Killer Tips Oct. 2 blog at http://www.lightroomkillertips.com/page/8/ . Matt K. does a video tutorial on this effect using Lightroom but you can apply the same thing to Camera Raw.

of course, it's all a matter of taste, and some would prefer a straight 'realisitic' photo-
I certainly don't have a problem with that, and I like photos like that-
hell, anymore, I think I like all freakin' photos-
so all you photographers out there, I really like your photos, past, present and future-
so, I've got some work cut out-
