The most widespread and familiar of the American plovers, the Killdeer is a common bird in farmyards, fields, and roadsides. This juvenile was far too busy looking over the menu to even bother recognizing that I was there.

Great detail and exposure. I could never get that close to some killdeers. And what happen to its neck?
