As some people helpfully pointed out my first post (the dead leaf), was a bit subpar (it was). Here are some shots I took in Rhode Island. All of these as of right now are Straight Out Of Camera. I like all of them for different reasons, but I'd like to hear some more opinions. RIght now I'm leaning towards 1/2 for the theme, but I love #4. So let me know.

2 (i'm thinking about cropping this one better)

Definitely NOT sub par. I understand why you are leaning toward #1 or #2. But I think #4 is marvelous. It gets my vote.

#1 for me. I love the play of light in it.

#2 or #4, but cropping the top part off both. Probably leaning towards #4 too, but needs to be off center.

All very nice shots... number 1 for the theme... If you use 4 it does need to be cropped...

Well, I'll confuse things by saying, and meaning, that I like #3 the best... All are really nice for the theme, though..

I'm actually partial to 3 myself but they all fit what I have in my mind as ambient.

#4 is my fav, but I don't know how well it adresses the theme.

but what do I know. I'm not a judge on LPS. :-)

#1 (so glowy!) or #4 with the suggested crop from the top. I think they are both within theme, bt I think #1 captures "ambient" a bit more strongly. thumb.gif

Thanks guys, for all the feedback. You've pretty much confirmed my suspicions. I'm gonna go with #1 (though for myself I might make a print of #4). I wish you guys could have seen the 2 trees (red and the green) live. Some of the most amazing colors I've ever seen on plants.

    I really like 3 , 4 , and 5

They really grab my eye, but I might suggest a re-crop on them
