I have done some searching, but quickly get confused...

I have a drebel and finally buying a telephoto lens for dirtbike action shots. I am very amateur and don't know much about the tecnicalities, etc.

I am looking for something in the 200-300mm zoom range and that I can grow into. Of course, the most important thing is it is good for action.

Budget is about $600, I prefer to stay on the cheap, but if you can recommend something that is on the high-end but worth the $$ thats ok too.

any ideas?

I take it these bikes will be on a track at a small distance. I'd suggest the Canon 70-200/4, or a 300/4 (used or off brand).

    DBJ,

I concur with Lucky. The F4L Canon is very nice indeed thumb.gifthumb.gif

From what ive read i recon you could also look at the Sigma 120-300 f/4. DoctorIt just bought one(thread here some where) & for about $1K i think the 300mm would be a good buy.

Im buyin' something...dont know what yet but i want some lens.
