Well this is attempt #2 in the HDR world...I dont think it is quite as striking as the bridge, but I was pleased with the results.

Lets hear it....:dunno

Thanks Dave. I usually do a +2, a normal and a -2 on the three exposures when I do HDR.

Thanks for visiting my web site. I am extremely impressed by your site and the photos on display there. Very nice.

Dave you are doing an awesome job with your HDR's clap.gif

Thanks everyone, glad to see I am on target with this HDR stuff. I was pretty amazed when I saw the first tone mapped result. This process is the solution I was looking for. I like to shoot alot of outdoor stuff and constantly battle the dynamic range of most shots. Forget the PS'd skies and gradient blends..This could be my new way of getting the most out of a landscape shot.
For those you looking to get into HDR, well it didnt take much. I took 3 exposures of a few shots. I initially tried PS CS2 for the HDR but found that no where near as easy as Photomatrix. Downloaded PM got the tone mapped result and then finshed up with some levels, contrast, saturation and USM in CS2..
I guess the important part is still the original photo(s).

    Cheers

I like the shot, and the HDR is pretty good, but I would think that one of the goals with HDR is to use the dynamic range to avoid blown out areas in the snow, and you've got several splotches of 255 on all 3 channels in RGB. I would like to see those fixed. ne_nau.gif

    HDR Lessons
OK, that's it. I'm ready to learn HDR. Any tutorials we can learn from for us "technology challenged" wannabe's??

    Absolutely beautiful work!:D

Thanks...The more I get into photography the more I realise the hardest part is just getting out there and doing it. When the alarm clock rings and its 5am -18 outside well there are alot of voices telling me to stay in bed.

But when I get to my destination and see how peaceful it is, well its always worth the effort. Plus you head home with a few hundred shots to scan through hoping to find a few keepers that documented the day.

The HDR process is new to me and there is definitely a ton of room for improvement. As David mentioned there are a few 255's running around my photo which can be cleaned up. But its a good starting point and I am looking forward to my next outing.

    Cheers
