Nickname Customization

If I format my nickname form belphotos to BELphotos, will it screw up my directory and path structure? Does this OS ignore uppercase letters and treat everything as lower case?

You could change your nickname to PleaseScrewUpMyDirectoryAndPathStructure and we would still keep it perfectly for you.

If you mean your gallery and photo links, they will still work perfectly regardless of how you change your nickname.

Just tried to format nickname using account settings and it won't allow. Returns message:
We're sorry, someone is already using that nickname. Please try another.

Essentially what I would like to do is change nickname 'belphotos' to 'BELphotos'. Is there another way to do this?
