Hi Gang,

First off, I have to say again that this is the most awesome site I've ever visited. I can't get enough of it.

Anyway, if I am logged in and go to "My Photos" and start opening photos to edit titles, keywords, etc, are those counted as a "hits" in the statistics? In other words, can the stats be distorted by my own activity while logged in?

When I look at the stats for each photo, it would be far more useful to see the total number of hits rather then then number of hits for each size which to me seems irrelevent. Can the total number of hits be shown in addition to or even instead of the hits by size? That way I wouldn't have to add up the hits in my head.

My stats aren't showing the Conversion Ratio. Why would this be?

Yes, your own viewing activity will cause your stats to change.

The conversion ratio is simply the number of small/medium/large/original hits divided by the number of thumbnail (both sizes) hits.


The higher the number, the more people are seeing larger-than-thumbnail versions of your images.

Without seeing one of your galleries it is hard to say why you have no conversion ratios. It is probably due to no one looking at your larger images, this is possible if you have the larger images blocked.

Also, the stats located in your Control Panel are not currently working correctly. The Gallery Stats found in the Gallery Tools menu are more accurate.

One thing you mught consider is setting up a Statcounter account. I use them to collect a lot more information that SmugMug can provide. There is a discussion about setting up Statcounter here on Dgrin:
