backprinting question

What is the difference between the "backprinting" option in the control panel and the one in customize of each gallery?

The help page first describes how to set backprinting for your galleries as a whole under control panel, then says "Note: You can choose different backprinting for a specific gallery under customize gallery."

Based on that, I believe that if backprinting is specified for a gallery that it overrides the backprinting specified on the control panel.
