Artist: Magdalena Abakanowicz
The work refers to an account the artist heard as a child in Poland during World War II about a group of children who froze to death as they were transported in cattle cars from Poland to Germany, as part of the "Arianization" process.

This is fantastic! I never knew the story of this "statue garden" although it was completely chilling even without know the story (as all it should be with good art).

I did a few images which I entitled "Our Toy Soldiers" which didn't turn out nearly as nicely as yours:

Thanks for the comments. I kind of wish I had my tripod for this as it was getting later and I was hand-holding the camera.

Geez, that's so sad. It's a nice shot though, but a sad story indeed.

David I think the shot is very sharp and great as it is. Very chilling set of statues and the bright sunset light above their shoulders makes it even more ominous. thumb.gif
