Hi Guys and Gals

I took quiet a few shots of a very talented model at the latest Nikon Expo show and afterwards I promised to send her some of the pics if they were any good (can never tell with me behind the camera). Now what i'd like to pick your brains over is:

She was hired by Nikon for the various workshops and there's no formal contract between me or her. Where do I stand in relation to the pics I've taken esp as there 's no model release been signed by us, esp. as I'm more than happy to provide her with whatever good pics she likes for her portfolio? She was a joy to shoot.

Personally, I don;t have intention to sell any of the images and but what happens if she sells the images that I provide her ? What do you think i shoudl do ?

Cheers

Harj

From my understanding of (US) copyright laws, neither of you can sell the images really. You own the copyright on the image, so she cannot sell it; there's no model release so you cannot sell it except for editiorial use. If Nikon's logo is prominent, then they can probably prevent either of you from doing much. The images are pretty much portfolio fodder.

For real legal advice, go see a real lawyer. deal.gif
