I've heard so often that the Bigma is useless for moving objects - too slow. I'm now trying to prove the naysayers wrong :wink

Egyptian Goose landing (this one is fairly heavily cropped):

[This is all new stuff for me. With the 350d, I never used burst mode - the new camera seems to enjoy it :D]

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Dave! I feel that the 40d really does make a difference for picking up focus - looking forward to your d300 shots.

Al, those cattle egret shots are great! thumb.gif

We saw hundreds of cattle egrets at the Salton Sea this past weekend, and I didn't get any shots of them as good as yours.

    Cheers,

Thanks Joel! These shots were taken at a breeding colony, where there were also hundreds - like your experience, the breeding colony was just too far for decent pics.

Thanks Jeff - I *do* need more practise with panning using a ball head.

All we can do is maximize the use of the tools at our disposal,
and that's exactly what you seem to be doing Al thumb.gif
I concur with most here on the last shot of the Cattle Egretclap.gifclap.gifclap.gif
