I remember seeing a list of the "must have" wedding photos on here somewhere but now I can't find it :rolleyes

If anyone has it listed (or has there own list) could you please post it here.

This is a basic guide I have worked years on to perfect and get right. By no means is it set in stone and I still deviate slightly from some of these, but its a good start.

THE BRIDES HOME/DRESSING ROOM IN CHURCH

Bride Getting Ready

• The invitation and possibly the ring bearers pillow with the bridal bouquet
• Mirror photos

a. bride using comb and brush
b. bride with compact
c. bride applying lipstick
d. brides hands holding parents’ wedding photo with her reflection in the mirror behind
e. brides hands holding invitation with her reflection in the mirror behind
f. brides hand holding engagement ring, with her reflection in the mirror behind
g. bride and mirror together
3. Mom adjusting bride’s veil
4. Bride and maid of honor
5. Bride’s shoes
6. Bride’s feet peeking out from under the dress
7. Other bridal accessories

Groom Getting Ready (same time as above)

• Putting on tie and tux jacket
• With ring bearer, adjusting tie (posed shot)
• Various groomsmen, and best man getting ready
• Groom in mirror, finishing touches
• Groom and groomsmen, and best man outside of house, in tuxes
• Grooms entire party getting into cars, etc

The Living Room/Church Interior or Yard

• Bride and dad: formal
• Bride and dad: kissing him on cheek or hugging him
• Bride and her parents: two images

• Bride and her parents, selective focus

• Brides parents alone
• Bride and mom: regular and soft focus
• Three generations: brides side
• Bride and sisters (and optional, bride with each sister or bride with all siblings)
• Bride and brothers (and optional bride with each brother)
• Bride and bridesmaids (and optional bride with each maid)

• Bride with flower girl

• Bride alone: three to four close-up poses, two to three images per pose
• Bride alone: three to four full lengths

Leaving the House

• Bride, parents, and bridesmaids in front of house, tight and wide shots
• Dad helping bride into limo/other form of transportation

THE CEREMONY

Arriving At the Ceremony

• Dad helping bride out of limo (or variations)
• Groom and best man: two frames (possibly the second as a gag shot)
• Church/ceremony location architecture, and signage of location
• Interior of empty church where ceremony will happen
• Rings in the bible (if possible)

The Processional (set ISO settings for church lighting)

• mother of bride and mother of groom being escorted down the aisle
• each bridesmaid walking down the aisle
• maid of honor walking down the aisle
• flower girl and ring bearer
• bride and dad walking down the aisle: at least two shots
• dads kiss goodbye

Readings or Music
Long Exposure from Rear, wide
Rings Two Times
Candle Lighting/Memory Candle/Sand Ceremony
Special Traditions

• mass
• couple kissing at sign of peace
• bride and groom kissing parents at sign of peace
• drinking wine and/or receiving the host
• presenting flowers to the church
• other religious traditions

The Recessional

• bride and groom: at least two images
• bride and groom kissing in the aisle at end of church

Receiving Line: Three to Twelve Candid’s
Bride and Groom With Each Set Of Parents

• possible pictures of the couple with their grandparents

Leaving the Church

• bride and groom: silhouette in church door
• bride and groom with bridal party on church steps and the rice throw

Getting Into the Limo/Other Transportation

• Shooting through the far door, looking at the bride and groom
• bride and groom looking out limo window
• from front seat looking into back of car
• bride and groom toasting
• bride and groom facing camera and facing each other
• bride and groom kissing

FORMAL PORTRAITS
(check ISO settings, they changed during ceremony)

The Toast

• best man toasting

Table Pictures

• the tables for each set of parents

Candid’s: 24 to 48 photos of bridal party and guests dancing

• two-up dancing photos: faces toward the camera
• three and four up groups dancing: facing the camera
• large, impromptu groups of the couples friends
• totally candid tight shots of the bride and groom

Bride and dad dancing
Groom and mom dancing
Romantic interlude: 10 to 12 photos

• candlelight photos
• good by shots or gag shots
• available light night scenes including reception hall scenery

The cake, at least two shots. Two of the bridal, two of the groom’s cake

• bride and groom cutting cake: two images, bride looking at the camera and then looking at the cake
• bride feeding groom
• groom feeding bride
• bride and groom hands over cake, showing rings
• bride and groom kissing each other with cake in composition
• Grooms cake cutting
• bride and groom feeding each other the groom’s cake

Bouquet and garter toss

• tossing bouquet
• bouquet catcher
• removing garter

Leaving reception

• getaway car
• bride and groom leaving with items being thrown on them (rice, etc)

Sorry for the late reply, I just saw this then and remembered I posted it...

I actually saw the title and thought "that is what I need!!!", then realised it was my post

Great list and yes, this is the one I saw before.
