One big photo on the homepage...but how?

Hi DigitalGrinners.... this is my first post, so go easy on me...

Here's the thing: I've been using smugmug for a while now - how wonderful it is - and have upgraded to a power account, so finally I can scribble my name across my own page.

But I'm a bit stuck. You know all those wonderful 'customization possibilities' that are on the SmugMug Showcase? Well, why doesn't smugmug walk us through how to achieve something similar?

I was a bit surprised, so i thought i must have missed something, because smugmug usually walks us newbies through most things. So the first question is: is there a way to easily customise the front page, say by clicking on a theme?

Ok, perhaps not. If not, here's my second question. How can I make one of my photos reeeeally big on the front? (As per those two example urls above?) That's what I really want. A great big one of my photos up there, and then a little slideshow above or below. Are there simple ways to do that?

Both of the examples you pointed to are using variations of the slideshow.

Also - it would help the folks who will be trying to help you if you would include the name of your smugmug site in your posts. The easiest way to do that is to go to You! (above and to the left), and Edit Signature. You can put your site name there (along with anything else you'd like as a sig) - that way it will always be available.

i almost feel ashamed i even looked at the zenfolio website earlier....please forgive me... ;-)

Sometimes you just need to know where to look for the information. There's so much here that the answer you need doesn't immediately jump out at you.
