Not great images but I have never seen a moth that looked like a tropical fish! Have you? It's excreting a clear liquid from its rear end? Could this be bait for another insect?

because they feed on plant sap, just like aphids, they have to excrete excess sugar - not exactly a bait But suspect ants would enjoy it.

Ahahaha your right it does look like a Tropical Fish
Very pretty colours too.
We don't get the colourful one's down my way,
they are either Green or Brown tones.
Great shots ... I see Brian has enlightened you and the rest of us about the life of these Leaf Hoppers.
I was not aware they excreted a sugar like substance
I wont forget it now though.

Leaf Hopper! Never would have guessed that name. Speaking of ants, I watched a show on the science channel about certain ants in Europe that heard aphids just like we heard cows as a source of food (the sugar water they excrete). Man it would be cool to get a shot of an ant feeding of the Leaf Hopper. Thanks for the information your skill and knowledge amazes me.
