extending beyond the api: encouraged or discouraged ?

Hey Don,
I realise that smugmug encourages innovation
But I am interested in Smugmug's real position on extending beyond what the API is currently capable of.
Since I have built functionality for posting images, it's not inconceivable that this could be broaden to other functionality not currently supported.
ie. image/gallery removal, category/sub category creation, etc ,etc.
