And I fear I may not be able to control it. I've finally done the deal, and the terms of my injury settlement are final. It's not a huge amount of money, but definitely enough to pay off all bills and leave me with a little chunk of change.

So, "What urge is this you feel?", you may wonder. Well, it's only been about six weeks since I purchased what I still consider to be my pretty nifty Olympus, but, I wish I had the hotshoe, and who wouldn't want 2.8 more MPs? Oh GOD! I need to be stopped, I just bought this thing! I haven't even been properly accessorized (see: "What NOT to Wear") yet! <sm casts her arm over forehead>

My mental images as I'm falling asleep last night..
"Wow.. once I pay of x + y + z bills, I'll have $$$$ left. There are so many things I could do with that money, so many thing's I'd like to do with it.. I could get another camera, a BETTER CAMERA.. YEAH, that's the ticket!!" yes.gif

Then, I duel, one id against the other..! :duel

"Marina, you can't, you mustn't. You just GOT the Olympus, you love it, and you haven't even learned how to do everything it can do!" :nono

"But.." :twitch

"You're sick. Do you know that? Truly sick. What has come over you?" :nono

"But I want it! I want more! Better, faster, bigger.. we can REBUILD HIM! We have the technology..!" punk.gif
"... Yeah.. C'mon, baby.. Go ahead, it'll only be about a grand all told. You know you want it, you know you do!" smug.gif

"Nay, I mustn't. My covet.. covetry? covetedness? I must not.. NO! I can win this thing.. I can hold out. Really, try me!" pout.gif

:bow "BOW TO MY WILL!" :bow

"Ohh.. ohh!!" :whip

"No. Must. Be. Strong." :bash

I feel so torn.. I know, I'm sick. :sick Demented, even. :wxwax

I agree with ian. Steps. Learn this sucker, then graduate. If it takes a year, a new generation of cameras will be out... even better than today's.

As for timing? The recent Vegas show had some promising stuff. It should
start showing up on the shelves soon. One of two things happen. You'll find
last year's stuff at bargin prices or something really cool will become available.

It won't take forever to learn. No way.

http://www.dpreview.com/articles/pma2004/ has a nice list of the new
stuff. I like this site for reviews, etc. They've got samples of all the cameras
    they review too.
