Small Splashes

I dripped a droplet or two of water into a dish of water. I placed a pale brown/beige towel beneath the dish.

Often done I know, but I thought I'd have a go at it.

First one is using custom WB set to tungsten, the second with AWB, both with flash for lighting.

Manual mode, f/16 @ 1/60sec, ISO 100. 400D with the Sigma 105.

On the bluey one, the dish was at a slight angle, but when I tried to straighten it in PS, the droplet came in at an angle and looked wrong, so I left it.

Paul--these are a lot of fun, and timing is everything. Love the 2nd one. clap.gif Well done.

These are really great, Paul. thumb.gif

Are you using any special timing devices to trigger your shutter and/or flash?

    Regards,

Thanks all for looking and commenting.

kdog, all of them are taken by using a remote release (in my left hand) for the camera as I squeeze (in my right hand) a small oral medicine syringe (the type for giving medicine to young kids when they can't use a medicine spoon).

The timing was incidental, though it was really only a matter of moments - one or two were bound to be accurate enough out of 30 attempts.... clap.gif

    Paul these are excellent clap.gif
The towels even though they are under the bowl look like they are in the bowl.

I looked at the images before I read the text,
and wondered how you got all that brown rice to sit the way it is rolleyes1.gif

You've done an excellent job at these Paul clap.gif
