A few samples from the game the other nite. Was the first real field test of the new body. I tried the 70-200/2.8 along with a few others but the results from the 200/2 always amaze me. The D3 & 200/2 are made for each other. :lust Anyway, hope you enjoy...

Wow! Those look great. Of course it looks like the lighting at a top NCAA Division I school is just a "little" better than average.

    Thanks much!

Oh no doubt...I definitely can get away with lower iso. I would normally shoot around iso400 with the D2X in there but now can easily push higher. The 3200 shots were more just a test to see the iq in that range. I was stunned...very clean. Talk about a dream sports body.

Ewwww, Duke shots!!! rolleyes1.gif I'm a terp and we just know that's not a good match. mwink.gif Seriously though, great shots and yahoo to Nikon for stepping up the game in high ISO. I've played a bit with my D300 and I am HAPPY.

Are you a member at NikonCafe.com? I'm sure there are many people on there who would be thrilled to see these.

The higher ISO really let you capture the swishing hair. The first shot even got the swishing uniform!

ps Um, am I the only one that noticed that the second last Duke player was in full makeup? :tuesday

Heh - looking back at the shots it looks like that one was taken during pregame shoot around. The makeup is gone pretty quick once the clock starts....

Great shots. They are so sharp, clear and natural they almost do not look real. Nice job.

Great stuff. That is, indeed one nice lens. And great results at higher ISO from the new D3.

Wow, the noise is almost non existent....Makes my D200 look like a chump...

Curious if you did any noise removal post process or this that right out of the D3 ?

    Great shots BTW

    Cheers

Thanks Dave - NR was set to Low which in turn triggers some NR in NX. Then slight WB and slight USM and conversion to jpg in NX. I thought I had NR to off but new D3 and NX 1.3 all at the same time had too many new menu options... :) Either way, I would call the D3 remarkably clean at 3200 and easily workable in the 3200-6400 range. Best I can tell 6400 is 800 on the D200... eek7.gif

amazing shots! I don't suppose you would consider unlocking some of the other albums to show off more of your work?
