Fantastic series, I love them all. Do you use a 600mm for photographing the Nuthatches and other small birds? Someday I hope to shoot glass longer than 300.

    Thanks Graham!

    I use a 500. I decided a 600 is just too much glass to carry around! rolleyes1.gif

Buy a 600, I'll be glad to carry it for you, for a 20% time fee, so I can shoot with it rolleyes1.gif

Outstanding Glen, especially the beautiful Owl. Maybe I should move to OC to find such great subjects.....not to mention the Spoonbills. thumb.gifthumb.gifthumb.gif

Thanks William! The spoonbill is the second one recorded in orange county in about 70 years. Birders and Photographers have been flocking by the droves to see this one. When I went there was about fifty people at different poinst along the Santa Ana river. some of them had seen the bird and some had not. It took us three hours to find the spoonbill.

Fantastic shots Glenn! The sharpness and clarity are phenomenal. I didn't realize the spoonbill was so rare in Cali. That is pretty neat that you found it and got such beautiful pics. They aren't just from Florida. We have them all over the Texas coast as well.

Thanks Jeff. I took shots of the owl when there was a little sunlight. I found it really hard to balance the hotspots. I came back later when the sun was setting, and took this shot with the better beamer and got much better results.

Last report was in the Santa River near the Tustin Avenue bridge.
This is near where the 55, and 91 freeways meet.

Great details and color Glenn. Enjoy the spoonbill now because we are taking him back home to Florida.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

That's close to where I work! He's probably moved on by now. Great set of shots Glenn! I finally made it over to Bolsa Chica last weekend. I didn't run into anyone and I wasn't there very long (it was cold and breezy!) but I was amazed at what I saw in a brief walk. eek7.gif

Thanks Susan! The spoonbill was reported to have been there this morning!

Bosa has changed quite a bit. Did you see the "Wall of death". That's the official name birders have given the glass wall on the mesa.
