I'm *really* happy with the 40d's autofocus - the 350d would have lost the plot in the 2nd one with the grass seeds (these were all taken at F6.3, maximum aperture for the Bigma at 500).

The biggest problem for me is the size and the weight of the camera. I'm finding it difficult to get the balance right, especially handheld and on a monpod with the Bigma - most of the shots I've shown taken with it were on a tripod. I also don't like the two wheels - I invariably end up turning the wrong wheel when trying to change settings (or even view pics). The buttons in front of the top screen are ergonomically very poorly placed (as is the top screen), especially if you work with the camera on a tripod or monopod most of the time. Needs practise to get used to it...

I know what you mean about the two wheels. I was a bit like that with my camera for a while. Just takes a while to get used to it.
