Sedona AZ- first snow

A couple days ago I posted my young proteges shots from Sedona so I figure I should post some of my own too.

Weather was very cloudy with scattered snow showers- the first of this year.

Slide Rock State Park is known for cool refreshing water in the summer- no one was sliding down the creek today.

2nd and 4th is spot on..love the 4th pic. Nice blend of nice contrast,snow and life at the same time. Splendid.

The 2nd one has the perfect water..Not to milky and not to frozen.

That plant in #4 looks like poison ivy. :eek1

You may know birds but you sure don't know plants.

The leaves are actually from blackberries which grow throughout the rim country and Sedona. Back when you could park along the highway we would eat the berries as we walked to and from the water.

#4 is very nice. I like the simple, contrasting elements of old leaves, green leaves, white snow, and melt off from the grey rocks above, puddling in the clay colored rock below. I can feel the sun. Composition aside, it's a crisp shot. It all works well. Thanks for sharing.

#3 works well because of the isolation of the subject. On a personal level, I'd prefer to see more 'silkiness' to the water in #2 so that it would be in contrast to the hard rock surfaces. #4 is just a perfect exposure, IMO...excellent capture.
