I don't normally like IR, but this one's an exception. Maybe it's because people seem to gravitate to foilage when they shoot IR, but this one is stunning.
One thing I love about the National Cathedral is that it looks like it could be sitting on some rolling hillside in England -- except that it's surrounded by DC. I think taking this to IR really brings out the nature: the clouds, the trees, the shadows in the stone. It really takes this scene back a few centuries and across the ocean.
i haven't yet found a need to convert my camera for ir. i just utilize the r72 (ir) filter on my d70s. in ps, i convert to b&w and adjust levels for a little contrast.
