I just made the jump to a D300:barb have been using my D50 for 2 years. Reading manual and learning all the buttons before I go off chasing critters with it. ALso bought a Sigma 170-500mm lens. Big learning curve from my little point and shoot.:scratch But look foward to the challenge.

My cat is hiding as he always does when the camera comes out.Sorry

    Welcome to dgrin!

Wow, that's a huge jump. Congrats! Completely envious.

I found myself looking at the D300 tonight and was convincing myself I could afford 1800. Then I woke up and laughed! My credit score is just too important to me at this point in life.

    Have fun!

    Cheers,
    -Jon

Congratulations on the new D300. I purchased a D50 last February, and have really been enjoying it. I've been thinking about the D300 as well, but decided to wait for now.

I'm sure you'll really enjoy it.

I am in the same boat. I think the D300 will be my next camera unless the D90? will have some of the same guts. First, I got to pay off the new A/C and rebuilt transmission.:cry
