Lucky Hack #34 Opinions on "10,000 ft."

I had decided to photograph using the principles of minimalism instead of trying to make a piece of minimalist artwork ( like I had tried earlier) and I was lucky enough to get this on a flight back from Palo Alto yesterday and unless I get something better, I think this will be my challenge, but I'm not sure how to crop...

Would you enter this in the challenge? Is is just a sunset? Which crop do you like better?

Comments and Suggestions and opinions encouraged.

hoping this message finds you enjoying the weekend -Ian

The first one is excellent and it meets the challenge criteria as far as I interpret it.

    Good Luck

What an absolutely beautiful picture. I much prefer the uncropped version. If you took the moon out of it, it would definintely be minimalist art, but I like the crescent moon. It adds some subtle drama to the photo. Still... you might want to think about removing it. ne_nau.gif Anyway, the photo is really a lovely capture.clap.gifclap.gif

I think this is the best example of a minimalist landscape we've seen so far!! I like the moon because it firmly anchors it as just that, a minimalist landscape in my opinion. I wouldn't change a thing! clap.gif

Mmmm... really like the first one. And leave it cropped the way it is. The moon is so subtle, I missed it the first time I viewed! Excellent. thumb.gif

personally i like this crop, all the colors and brilliance of the first shot, but in a more compact form...

I can only hope to progress to the point of one day being a second rate photographer, wish me luck.

Yeah, I like it too, I have a bunch of shots where the gradient is center focus, but I just wasn't able to give up the moon, somehow it gives a sense of scale and reality to what you're looking at and isn't as a easy to dismiss.
