Sharpening files for uploading

I have read through the threads/tutorials on sharpening. I am very comfortable with utilizing USM for sharpening but I am struggling with how much to sharpen the large JPEGs before I upload them since I do not know the final output. I subscribe to the theory of not applying any sharpening until I have resized for final ouput of a specific print size, web use, etc.

Any suggestions for determining the amount of sharpening before uploading?
