First post here. I've been enjoying the photos on this forum so I thought I'd give it a try and see if I can successfully attach a photo.

We have had good luck with our Bluebirds this summer....two fledges. The first nest had one chick that didn't make it. All survived in the second nest a couple of months later. This is the 'Proud Papa'

Beautiful! The colors are amazing, and I love that he appears to be looking right at you. A curious bird?

    How did you do it?
This is a great shot! I'm just learning about the technology of cameras. What did you shoot this with?Any pointers?

He was looking away until he heard the click of the shutter...then looked right at me....I clicked again and then off he went!

    Hi Kitkat,
This was shot with a Nikon D200 and the 70-200 VR. I was about 8 feet away, hiding a bit. The Bluebirds were starting to get used to me as I wouold bring them mealworms daily. I would come out and whistle and they would come closer. I'd place the mealworms and back off a bit and they would come in for their treats!

AWESOME. Great color, Great DOF, great detail and tack.

It also proves that blubirds can indeed come from the Bronx or Brooklyn. I can hear this guy say "You talkin' to Me??"

Agree with everyone else, outstanding capture of a very beautiful bird. I've had them around here from time to time but never was able to get a good shot. Guess I'll have to entice them a bit like you say. :D
